Volta Polska supports the first comprehensive carbon footprint assessment of Polish aviation

PSDL Report

Volta Polska funded the preparation of the first comprehensive carbon footprint assessment of the Polish aviation sector. The report, “Assessment of the Aviation Sector’s Carbon Footprint in Poland,” was prepared by Hume’s Institute (PMR Market Experts) on behalf of the Polish Association for Decarbonization of Aviation (PSDL) and published in August 2026.

The report presents the first comprehensive analysis of Polish aviation’s carbon footprint, based on market data, industry interviews and the GHG Protocol methodology. The study also examines how European regulations, including ReFuelEU Aviation and the EU ETS, affect different segments of the sector.

Volta Polska is a partner of PSDL, and funding the report is part of the company’s commitment to decarbonizing the aviation sector. As an independent power producer (IPP) and investor in renewable energy assets, Volta develops solutions that support the energy transition across different sectors of the economy.

The report is part of the broader European transformation of aviation, as growing requirements around emissions, aviation fuels and energy efficiency increase the need for cooperation between the aviation and energy sectors.
