Volta Polska announces the start of construction of a standalone BESS in Połaniec. The 6 MW / 15 MWh system will be connected directly to the grid, with commissioning expected in early 2027. The project marks Volta Polska’s entry into the standalone storage market and is the first in the company’s planned pipeline of both standalone and hybrid BESS projects in Poland.

Volta Polska is pleased to announce the commencement of construction on its first standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Połaniec, Poland.

The project, with a capacity of 6 MW / 15 MWh, represents an important milestone in the company’s development strategy and marks Volta Polska’s entry into the standalone energy storage market. Directly connected to the grid, the facility will contribute to enhancing grid stability, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources, and increasing the flexibility and security of Poland’s power system.

This first BESS project reflects Volta Polska’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition through the development of innovative infrastructure that enables a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient energy system.

Construction activities are now underway, with commissioning expected in early 2027 following the completion of installation and testing works. As Volta Polska’s first standalone battery storage asset, the project will serve as a key reference for the company’s pipeline of both standalone and hybrid storage projects.
